Possum up a tree

This is an example of kohlrosing, an ancient Norwegian art. In a piece of wood you make cuts and where you want it darker, make them closer together and criss-cross the lines. Then you grind coffee grounds very fine and rub in the cuts. Sand it off and apply mineral oil. We did this today in carving class and I posted this for Bill to see.

Carving is so much fun. I did about ten of the eagle heads for my great-grandchildren and step grandchildren for Christmas. Made one for myself also

All the saws I paint on are industrial junk. People give them to me rather then just throw them away.

Before you can paint on a saw, you have to get all the rust off. Either by sand-blasting or you can dip it in muriatic acid. then it needs a coat of anti-rust primer.
